Okay so it is my senior year, and I really have been stressing about which college to go to. When I started thinking about my time left in highschool, the song “Wheels” by Foo Fighters came into my head. I really like the song and it gives me a little motivation so here are the lyrics:
And everyone I’ve loved before
Flashed before my eyes
And nothing mattered anymore
I looked into the sky
Well I wanted something than
we wish for something beautiful
wish for something true
Been lookin’ for a reason
Something to lose
WHEN THE WHEELS COME DOWN
WHEN THE WHEELS TOUCH GROUND
AND YOU FEEL LIKE ITS ALL OVER
THERE IS ANOTHER ROUND FOR YOU

A difital footprint is what information is on the internet about someone. I hope that I leave a postive digital footprint that isn’t to revealing of information. I hear so many stories about different people gettting stalked on the internet by their facebook and myspace profiles. This seems very scary and I cannot believe there are people out their like that. I have facebook, but I patrol who I am adding as friends and make sure that I know them personally. I originally thought facebook was safe, but from what I hear it is very dangerous. That is why I don’t update my facebook status but I do put pictures online because my friends and family would like to see them. I hope colleges or future bosses don’t look at my facebook page just because that seems to be the wrong way to judge a person. The simple words of pictures put online does not define who a person is. That is why I am sick of technology being the way we communicate with people. What happened to the good ol’ face to face communication? We have seemed to lost it in this day of age, and someday I hope technological communication goes out of style.
I accept that I already don’t want to do this decent everyday assignment, except my conscience elicits me to lay down eat a piece of pie for dessert and call up your principal who’s losing his mind. It’s getting annoying how every day Mrs. De Groot leads me further through where we’re supposed to be at in our paper. Between sitting here and there among students, I lie about how thorough my two less interesting essays are setting on the table. Their principle in effect of my papers, is to bring peace to the illicit desert near Nigeria. I’m all ready loose enough to throw this paper farther into descent in the garbage which smells so bad I can’t breathe.
Recently, I read an article about plagarism and cheating in school. I had to do this for an assignment, so if your completely bored by this, I’m sorry. The article is found at http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/education/2002152271_plagiarism16m and it gets into details on how to solve plagarism. I think plagarism has gotten to be really bad, but it is very hard to monitor it. In the article it talks about a website called turnitin.com. On the website, students enter all their homework in online, and then the computer checks to see if anything is plagarised. I think if a school were to do this, it would unveil the stupididty of highschool students. Most students these days cheat non-stop. Like the article said, 90 percent of students admitted to cheating at this specific school. So if they were to try and set some restriction on it, the world would be alot dumber. That could end up teaching more students to actually learn and it could be good. In my opinion, I think they should teach more honesty in school, so the children feel guilty when they cheat and maybe that will lead to no more cheating!

Okay many of you may know this, but I am only seventeen. Now call me crazy, but me and my friend Abby have this wierd obsession with listening to records. It’s not like we were alive in the day they used to listen to them, or that we can’t find the songs anywhere else, there is just something about watching that record spin and controlling the the song being played by a needle. I don’t know why…I just love it.
In the corner of my room, I have a record player that I inherited from my mother and it was collecting dust for quite a few years. Finally, last year I went out and bought a needle for it and started going through all her old records. I enjoyed researching artists and the different types of music they played and all the different records they came out with. Before you know it I was rummaging through garage sales and making trips to Savers with Abby to find a hidden treasure of a record. So if your bored in the summer and your into music, start listening to records!
My favorite record (so far!) would have to be The River by Bruce Sprinsteen-it was the first record I ever listened to. If you want to listen to the song about the river click here. But its more exciting listening to it on record player
My favorite song on a record would have to be the Old Songs by Barry Manilow- now its a little bit queer sounding but it makes my wanna be old and listen to the old 45s! just click here and listen to it before you go to bed it will make you fall asleep!…okay the music video is kind of embarrassing but o well
Okay does anybody here love the weekends? I know I do specially since school is back in session and it makes the weeks seem really long. So once that bell rings on the Friday most kids are dartin out the door to go do various things with friends, families, and significant others.
But does anyone ever feel like rushing home, locking yourself in your room, and sitting there doing NOTHING? because I DO! so once I get this blog done and all of my other stupid homework I am going to do that very thing and enjoy it!
….but then I’ll proly get bored and go off and do something with my friends or head off to a football game….. ha
So I was sitting on the computer, trying to find an excuse not to do my homework. So I went to this website called Pandora Radio that my friend Shantelle told me about. It’s a really cool site that plays music according to your own personal songs.
All you have to do is enter your favorite song and they will create a stateion for you! Check it out!
